Crafting Impactful Visual Stories

Javier Núñez is an award-winning film director, writer, and creative producer whose storytelling bridges fiction and documentary, English and Spanish, and diverse cultural landscapes across the Americas. With over a decade of experience, he brings socially relevant stories to life with bold visuals, emotional depth, and a deep-rooted sense of purpose.

His films — exploring identity, justice, memory, and human connection — have screened at over 75 international film festivals and received honors such as Best Director, Best International Short, and Audience Awards.

In addition to directing and producing, Javier is the founder and head programmer of the Intercultural Voices Film Festival in Los Angeles, and has served on the jury and selection committees of several festivals in the U.S. and Canada, offering a sharp curatorial eye and a commitment to elevating underrepresented voices.

He’s currently in post-production on two feature films: “Atrapada,” a suspenseful political drama, and “El Silencio de las Garzas,” a poetic documentary — marking his opera primas in both narrative and non-fiction.

Based in California and fully bilingual, Javier is available for directing, creative producing, curating, and script consultancy services — always seeking powerful stories that matter.

My Creative Journey

I’ve spent the last ten years making films that range from suspenseful dramas to personal documentaries and even music videos. For me, filmmaking isn’t just about putting images together — it’s about creating a real connection between people, cultures, and ideas. Every project is a chance to dive deep, collaborate with others, and tell a story that feels both honest and unforgettable.

I also founded the Intercultural Voices Film Festival, which has been a big part of my journey. Programming films and curating stories from around the world taught me how powerful cinema can be when it brings different voices together. That same spirit guides the way I direct and produce today.

If you’ve got a project in mind — whether it’s a script, a feature, or a doc — I’d love to connect. Let’s make something that sticks with people and opens doors for even more stories down the road.
